🔘 Course Description

This course provides an introduction to the study of creative digital media and video production. Learners gain a grasp of the media sector by analyzing media representations and proposing and developing media initiatives.

To produce digital media, students will learn how to work to a client brief in a specific media industry and the digital skills that go with it. They will select the format and medium for their digital media project and exhibit their creative and technical abilities in the creation of a finished result. T

Similarly, students will go through the video production process through the pre-production and post-production workflow, including choosing a genre, writing a script, developing shot lists and storyboards, considering location and equipment needs, shooting the scenes, and editing the film. Students will be introduced to terminology, roles, camera equipment, lighting, as well as basic shooting techniques. Students will also learn the principles of lighting techniques, the basics of audio, and how to get started in the industry.

This course is also designed to provide students with an overview of the basic principles of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). Students will create virtual environments and VR technology to showcase their digital media and video production final products to an audience.

Students will demonstrate their grasp of production and post-production operations by practicing the relevant techniques to create the product and generate the necessary paperwork to back it up. Working independently and with media hardware and software will prepare students for future skill development in both careers and further education.
